Leblanc Residence

Leblanc Residence

45 Louis Pasteur
Building code: LBC

Completed in 1965 and formally inaugurated in 1966, Leblanc Hall was the first women’s residence at the University of Ottawa. Éveline Le Blanc, the first Dean of Women (1961–65), directed the preparation of the plans for the residence named in her honour. Devoted to the cause of education in Canada and to the intellectual development of women, Le Blanc also assisted in establishing the Department of Dietetics in 1966.

This residence, the smallest on campus with 147 beds, is reserved for Francophone students and for Anglophones who wish to improve their French language skills by living in a Francophone environment.
