Building Description

Built at a cost of $26 million and completed in 1993, D’Iorio Hall is home to the Departments of Chemistryand Biology. The building holds about 66,000 square feet of state-of-the-art research laboratories and classrooms.

It was named after distinguished scientist Dr. Antoine D’Iorio, who was Rector from 1984 to 1990. During his 29-year association with the university, Dr. D’Iorio was professor and Chairman of Biochemistry, Secretary and Vice-Dean of Medicine, Dean of Science and Engineering, and Vice-Rector (Academic).
